◊ Yantra Workshop: In this two-day workshop you will learn to draw and paint an individual Goddess Yantra. This sacred geometric painting can then be used in your meditations at home. Sarah will guide you through a step-by-step method to its creation, this is a powerful ritual that creates an opening within.
You will be enriched in your spiritual practices from the increase in focus that Yantra Painting provides, and you will be nourished in your daily life and relationships by the positive attributes of your chosen Goddess. No previous art experience necessary.
All art supplies are provided. Please bring a 12″x12″ hard folder/book to transport your Yantra home in.
The inner focus of creating your personal Yantra is amplified through the practices offered during this weekend Sri Vidya Immersion.
In the evenings we will participate in two group rituals:
◊ On Saturday Evening we will create a large scale yantra, from flowers petals, seeds, grains and leaves. We will use meditation, breath work, visualization and group chanting to bring the uplifting, healing and empowering forces of the cosmos into ourselves and bring them to a point of focus at the central light in the Yantra. Siri Jyoti $36 Saturday 9/16/2017
*Please bring flowers (at least 2 bouquets of a single type/color rather than a mixed bouquet. In addition you can bring leaves, pine cones, grains (please bring multiple of a single element so that there is enough to balance and fill in the Yantra)
◊ On Sunday Evening we will be performing a rite of homa. Homa is a form of contacting the divine forces within and without by means of fire. Through controlled breathing, visualization and chanting, we conceive of the fire as the living embodiment of the Divine. The kundam (space where the fire is contained) is symbolic of the base of the spine where our latent spiritual potential lies dormant. The fire itself symbolizes the latent energy, or kundalini, and the offerings of ghee (clarified butter) symbolize the mind and its contact with the external world. The entire rite is designed to transmute all of our experience into the divine light of consciousness and bring into actuality those things most deeply desired to have fullness of life.
After the homam, if time permits we will perform the Shakti Puja, the worship of the human female as the embodiment of the Goddess. In this portion of the rite a women is consecrated and worshiped as Goddesses, given gifts and a feast is enjoyed afterwards.
Vegetarian food will be served afterwards.
